The Karonga Debate Club (KADEC) endeavors to contribute to the enhancement of vulnerable communities' living standards through multifaceted approaches. Our goal is to work in a holistic manner, empowering the most vulnerable populations to actively engage in public life, thus striving towards a comprehensive improvement in their quality of life. Through community mobilization, capacity building, advocacy efforts, and the strengthening of grassroots institutions, KADEC aims to create sustainable change and foster resilience within the communities we serve.

KADEC basically works mainly for the poorest of the poor in the rural areas of the province. Its target groups include in the poor and disadvantaged rural communities with emphasis on the most vulnerable men, women and children, youth, the elderly, people living with disabilities and orphans in Malawi who are still living in miserable conditions and deprived of very basic necessities of life that. For achieving its goal and objective, KADEC target groups also include health workers, paramedics and other staff related to health issues, teachers, students, environmentalists and stakeholders in the field of health, education and environment.

  • *Create an enabling environment for youth participation in all spheres of life at all levels.
  • *Enhance social and economic development and improved quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged rural communities with emphasis on women and children, youth, the elderly, the disabled persons and orphans.

  • The project will be implemented in Karonga District, with four health facilities that include Chilumba, Lwezga, Iponga and Ngana.
  • Starting from 31st January 2024- 31st January 2025 (12 months)
  • With funding from Gilead Sciences Inc.-USA
